i have a 1998 z28 camaro ls1 and the speedo does not work. The senor was changed and it still does not work and im not really sure what gears the car has in the read end, i bought it with a different rear end in it. its usually 30mph off, for example when it says 70 i am going 40, when it says 90 im going 60

It sounds like your speedo is working just way off, this could be from a gear/tire size change. You may need to have someone look into the PCM and see if the speed circuit is working correctly.
The easiest way to tell what gear set you have without pulling the cover and counting is to do this.
1.Jack the car up and put it on stands
2. put the trans in nuetral
3.Lay up under the car and make a mark on the drive shaft
4. Have someone spin the tire exactly 1 turn, while they are spinning it YOU count how many times that mark spins
EX. If they spin the tire and you seen that mark go around 3 1/2 times, then you have a 3.50 or 3.55 gear set.
If you see it go around a hair over 4 turns then you have a 4.10 gearset. ETC> ETC> hope this helps.
