Rear break lights not working
I am having an issue that I cant seem to figure out.
The other day I was told my break lights were not working. All of the main break lights did not work but the 3rd break light was working fine.
I checked and found all of my bulbs were blown. I replaced them but the problem was not fixed. I then replaced the break light switch but it still did not fix the issue.
The odd thing is that my rear lights work when I have my head lights on and use my blinkers.
I checked to see if it was a bad ground and it looks to be fine.
I also checked and the sockets are fine.
The issue must be between the break light switch and the sockets.
Is there a relay or something between the break light switch and the sockets?
Has anyone experienced this or might be able to provide some insight as to what it might be?
Thanks

If the 3rd brake light works, then its not the switch.
There is a connector just inside the rear of the car, behind the vertical carpet where the light harness plugs in to the car. That would be a really good place to test and confirm if the problem is in the rear harness or further forward in the car.
