Default Speedometer and odometer do not work

I just bout a 96 eclipse gs 5 speed for a dd and speedometer and odometer do not work... I purchased a vehicle speed sensor for the transmission but I'm not sure if that one will fix it yet... My question is because te odometer doesn't work do you guys have an idea of which speed sensor it may be? Did I get the correct one?

car is stock and i just put a brand new speed sensor for the tranny and it still didnt fix it... but now instead of it not working it works for a second or two and then stops... i think the gear inside the trans is stripped...

If the car is obd ii, I recommend you buy a Scangauge ii. Look into it. It's a great tool to have.
