Default Noise

Sometimes my car starts to get this winding noise from under the hood. It gets louder as I accelerate but never really completely stops even when at a complete stop. It also gets louder when I am turning into parking spots and ect. Is this probably my power steering pump ? I am confused because of the getting louder during acceleration part of the equation. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That sounds very much like a power steering pump to me, yes. The power steering pump has a pulley that's attached to the serpentine belt. So, as your RPM's increase, the RPM's of the power steering pulley will do so as well. Thus the louder noise during acceleration.
