Ok i Have searched the topic and have found some causes but never found an actual solution other than deleting the system. That is not an option for me. Any thoughts on where I should begin my trouble shooting would be appreciated.

deleting the system is not the solution, how many cars with it have no problems?
motor magazine april issue which is not posted online yet, the trouble shooter article talks about this type of problem. When there's air pump problems, the AIR control
solenoid valve/pressure sensor assembly can be a problem, it either sticks open or closed setting DTC's.
