When I drive "spirited" then the power steering makes a quiet groaning sound afterwords. It gets a little louder, just a little, when I turn. Any ideas? Thanks.

It's getting ready to die. Yours is doing the exact same thing mine did before it died after driving the car hard.

That really isn't the answer I was looking for. To clarify I mean it does it after hard acceleration. I don't do a lot of hard cornering. I hardly drive the car, it only has 35k miles on it.

Miles on a car, especially an American made car, are meaningless. Parts fail when they are brand new or when 14 years old. You never know.

If I were you I would do a power steering fluid flush.......maybe save that pump. If not, that symptom usually means the pump is failing.

mine does the same thing. after the car is warmed up or driven hard i can hear it with the windows up. im lookin to get a different power steering cooler and a flush to save this one.
