To start this off I am not trying to get 1000 k off a tank I no its a 5.7 but I got freinds who get way better gas mileage this is the situation , my cars gets 250 kilometers a tank using shell v power I drive mostly city but I usually only drive it at night cause there is less traffic I got a a4 ls1 , once in a while I get a engine code that is emissions control , is this normal gas mileage could it be a sensor oh and it also back fires hard when I chomp on her thanks for any help !

155 miles per tank is BAD.........I get WAY more than that with my 427ci.

Most likely you have an 02 sensor(s) that are failing......they make the engine run really rich.

Get a scan to see how they are working with the engine running.
