Default power steering issues

dont know much about this stuff, fluid is good, maybe ill try a new serpentine belt soon.

every now and then lately it seems like my power steering has been having issues....seems to only occur when i peel out....

car is cammed, ls6 intake, headers......

today i peeled out, got it sideways, and when i went to correct it, seems like i had no power steering, and when i let off, i straigtened it out.....so turned to the right slightly, *** end went to the left, when i tried to turn left to straighten out, almost like i hit a wall and had no steering for a split second....and again, when i let off i fixed it....

i never have any issues flying through turns or anhything, just the few times i whipped it sideways is where it seems to have issues. ideas?

Did you watch your voltage gauge when this happens? If your belt is slipping, I'd expect your alt to fall off also.

hey i thought about this too....since the car has 420 rwhp with a 24 pound mccleod clutch assembly with flywheel, when i gun it to get it sideways, the car goes from 2000 to 6000 pretty much instantly, like you dont hear it revving up its semi loud, then instantly screaming......with the rpms rising as quickly as the are, could it possibly be messing with the pump causing my issues?
