Default emission testing

hey guys i live in IL and i got my emisions test comin soon...my engine keeps throwin out a misfire code so i know it will not pass, but i was reading how to run through GM's Driving cycle, so i think im gonna try this to see if it works, a coworker of mine said he accomplished it, but one of the components is to idle and turn on the rear defroster and a/c. it says the more electrical load the better, my question is if i dont have a/c what are other ways to "load" my electrical components. im hopin if i can do this and not the car idle too long, beat on it a lil, ill be able to pass =)
