Default Crazy power steering problem.

New motor, new trans, didn't change anything as far as the power steering pump goes. Started the car for the first time and everything was fine. But was a slight squealing from the pump. Second time, reached in the window and hit the key and BAM wheels cranks all the way to the left and of course I was reaching thru the wheel. So it about snaps my damn arm in half.

Started it again and it didn't do it right away, then it cranked itself to the right. Didnt break my arm this time.

I'm not sure where to start to look. there's only two lines and I'm pretty sure I put em on where they're supposed to

Ii would think you have a bad rack if the car is steering itself.

I don't understand why it would tho, it acts like there's way to much pressure. Once u just barely turn the wheel, it goes full lock instantly

Its not too much pressure, (that's controlled at the pump) its that you have pressure where you don't want it...

The steering rack has valves in it that send high pressure fluid to different parts of the rack to help you steer. If one of those valve is leaking, it can sent the high pressure fluid to areas where you aren't calling for it to be.
