I ran into a similar issue with my driver side rear. It ended up being a worn down C-Clip on the end of the axle. The surface on the rear diff unit also was worn slightly. This allows the axle to push out causing the rotor to push on the caliper mount bracket. I bought new C-Clips and place a few custom shims in their and I haven't had any problems for about 20k miles.

Noise
I have a noise that comes from the right rear of the car and sounds like its a bearing rubbing/grinding slightly but has been doing it for thousands of miles. No failure yet so I dont know what it is. Would a fluid change shut it up?? I have had different wheels and tires on the car ==same noise and have put slotted rotors and pads on her and same noise so Ive eliminated those parts so it MUST be coming from the rearend. Any ideas out there..I guess it could be a axle bearing.
