Help ID Broken Tube Hey everyone,
Today I noticed a bunch of steam coming out from the back of the cowl by the windshield and found this crusty broken hose. I'm still learning my way around motors, but can someone help ID what it is for me? Thanks!

If it's going from the back of the driver's side head around the back of the engine, it's the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) tubing. It's fairly common for those to wear out on these cars as oil gets on the rubber from the inside and causes it to degrade. There's another connection on the back of the passenger side head and they join into one at a "Y" junction just behind the intake manifold at the back of the engine. From there, it runs up the passenger side of the intake manifold and connects to the passenger side of the intake at the throttlebody. Right at that connection is the actual PCV valve. I would check and replace any part of this tubing that is likewise dried out and put in a new PCV valve (they're cheap). If you do a search on the forum, you should find other people who have done similar repairs. You should also check inside your intake to make sure it didn't suck up any oil.

Thanks for the info. Got it fixed pretty easily. I managed to tear the hose where the valve tucks into on the fat side right where it tapers into the smaller diameter. Not quite sure how to fix that one since the diameters are different at the tear.
