Engine noise (video)
Engine noise (video) I have a 2000 LS1 trans am and there's a weird noise coming out of the passenger's side valve cover area (i think). I'm guessing it could be a rocker but I haven't found any videos that sound like this.
The engine internals (valvetrain, cam, heads) are stock, it only has a few bolt ons (LS6 intake, headers, lid, tune). Both belts were replaced around a month or two ago.

Yeah I think I'm going to take the belts out and see if it still does it, then try the valve covers. I could swear it comes from the valve cover area, but that kind of noises are always tricky.

I'm having this exact same issue - did you ever figure out what the problem was?
Sounds like the air gap is too close on the a/c compressor clutch.
My s10 was making a noise similiar to that after installing a cheap reman compressor.
I found this during a search for the a/c tensioner info, I've tracked a noise down to that on my car.

Update:
1. We tested without the belts and the noise is still there.
2. We did a cam swap, used brand new cam, springs and rods and the noise is still the same. All the factory rods, cam lobes, rockers and springs came out intact. No traces of damage or excessive wear on the cam lobes that could indicate a faulty lifter.

Solved That video sort of sounds like my car did. I took mine to a local shop and after lots of investigating found out that three of the driver side pistons had gotten warped and were rubbing/grinding against the cylinder walls of the block. Still waiting to get the car back, but I can't imagine it could be anything else.
Here's a video I took - not very loud but you can still hear it every time the engine is revved.
