Default Overheating/not holding coolant

Driving home last night car started to overheat fast so i pulled into a gas station and popped the hood, it didnt seem like it was over heating, no smoke or feel the heat from the engin bay. So i added some water drove a few miles started to overheat so i pulled over again and it went back to normal temp after 5 min of wating had to do that a few time to get home. Today after work i checked the water and it looked empty so i added water and when the radiator started to get full i heard water dripping on the floor around the rear of the motor and trans. Im gonna jack the car up and check it out more, just want to know if anyone has an idea of where the leak is coming from.

Thanks,
(i been searching)

So I was feeling around the back side of the head on the driver side and I felt water leaking out from what feels like a freeze plug. How bad is that? Has this happened to anyone before? And how do I fix it?

my guess is its not a casting plug leaking, its coming from the coolant crossover or blockoff plate on the top back of your heads. and its leaking down from there. there is one in each corner of the head

You might have a blown head gasket.

Do a leakdown test on ALL your cylinders, the one (or more !!!) that cause bubbles to come out of the radiator are the cause of your missing coolant.

Hello guys,

I had similar issue, in my case it was the water pump. It is quite difficult to see if the water pump is leaking a tiny bit. I found that with a good torch i could see that the leaking water had cleaned a small patch under the pump. There is a weep hole on the lower part of the pump. where the water leaks out.

The heater pipes near the bulkhead are also a likely candidate. Make sure the rad cap and the overflow tank/pipes are secure and in good condition.

If it is the water pump?

After advice from members on the forum re. cheap online/Fee bay pumps, i went for a Blueprint one.

see you with a good connection.....
If somebody has got better knowledge regarding this mater please give your suggestion......
