Default Few problems 98 T.A

1) So my 1st issue is that I just put a new hatch on my car from my buddy's 02 ws6 because he totaled his... (my t.a is white and I wanted to give a off set of white and black) I replaced the hatch and it lined up correctly, I replaced the hatch shock (since mine were out) and now when I close my hatch it doesn't seem to be lined up with the latch.
-It was off set from the hatch latch and the latch assembly buy a 1/4 inch to the left. so I drilled to hole and it closed correctly but when i press my button to open the hatch it won't open. (I can hear it engauging to open) I used the key and it won't open.
-I disasembled the assembly from the car and opened the hatch. had it connected by the wires and locked it in on the hatch and pressed the button again my it wouldn't open either (i can still see it engauging) the only way I can get it to release is if i turn the assembly to the left and wiggle it off the latch.

2) When I'm driving my car make this weird clunking sound (not very loud) only when I am not pressing on the gas it sound and just crusing. I was thinking it might be my tie rods but I'm not 100% sure.

3) My low coolant light is on, on my dash. Only comes on after I have been driving for like 10-15 min and only when it is warm or hot outside, when it is cold the light doesn't even pop up. I'm thinking I might have to replace the sensor. (The senor is located on the motor correct?)

Thank you everyone for you help.

The 1998 and earlier cars have a different, sealed hatch release. The 1999 and later cars have one with much of the mechanism exposed beneath the trunk lining. Did you closely inspect the striker on the two hatches to see if they are the same?

No I never did take a look at it when I switched it out. I though it would just line up no problem. But I already sold my old hatch.....
