airbag question
airbag question So my airbag light is on and it had been deployed (not sure how or why). Passenger side. The bag has been cut out......my question is.....I have a new dash I want to put in with am airbag. Will it deploy if I put our in lol. That's all I would need lol
I would first get new sensors, those bags wont go off, unless the sensors around the car are triggered, im not 100% sure if they can be tested, but id look into replaceing the sensors before throwing the bags in. you might also find the voltage at which the bags are triggered and use a volt meter and test to see if they are still reciving the current.
You'll need a mechanic with a Tech II tool to do the job. The airbag light should remain on after you put the replacements in until the SRS system is programmed for the new serial numbers on the airbags. (It recognizes when the original parts aren't installed.)
