Default got sick of it honestly

hello there,
its been a year since i bought my 98 camaro LS1, even since i had the oil pressure gauge reading low. so a month or 2 ago my friend did the oil pump replacement for me and i brought the original chevy camaro oil pump along with the O-Ring and timing gasket and crank seal and such as.

anyway, even after the replacement i felt like its still low so now i have the following reading

idling warm: 137 KPA (20 PSI) -- it went below that for a second today
1000 RPM: about 22-23 psi
2000 RPM: 30-35 PSI
3000 RPM: 40ish PSI
4000 RPM: 45ish PSI
6200 RPM (WOT): not more then 45 at all. lets be kind and give it 48 PSI.

when its cold at idling give me 40 PSI.
i drive the car for 15-20 minutes and all those pressure reading come.

i really got sick of it, thinking of selling it to be honest if its a major damage like bearings and such as but i really like my camaro.

also i notice the oil gauge fluctuates when the oil is hot ... very hot

any idea guyz, help .. please

thank you

EDIT: i forgot to mention that oil pressure appears lile that when driving only, when i put it in neutral and rev it up it give me a bit higher pressure. And when driving lile doing 2000 rpm when i lift my foot from the throttle the pressure risrs a bit like 3, 4 psi.. When i hit the gas paddle again it drops the 4 psi.

Have you verified the oil pressure is accurate with a mechanical gauge?

@SilverSS07: how do you check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge ?

@mikh338: but the gauge is working perfect as far as i know, cold start pressure is high when i rev it the gauge goes all the way to 70 PSI

My 98 trans am was the same way. As long as your oil pressure increases 7psi per 1000 rpm's you should be fine.

If it still bothers you I would replace the oil pressure sending unit on the back of the engine behind the intake manifold.

On your next oil change I would add some Lucas engine oil stabilizer. It will make your oil a little thicker and increase pressure by about 3-4 psi

Ever think of changing the oil pressure sensor behind the intake?
