Default Headlight grinding sound

Hello everyone. Last night, i went to shut the headlights off on my 98 trans am and when they closed, the driver side one made a sound like it was jammed or like the light just wanted to keep going down. The sound lasts for about 10 seconds then goes away. Another thing thats wierd is the whenever i go to lock or unlock the car with the remote, the headlights pop up then go back down. They never use to do that until last night at the same time the noise started. Any thoughts would be much appreciated, thanks.

You have a stripped headlight gear, you can replace it with another plastic one, or you can replace it with a brass gear and the problem will go away. The headlights go up and down to tell you it has a problem.
