Security problems A friend of mine is having trouble out of the security system on his 97 Z28. Sometimes the car just won't start and the security light will flash. You can leave it alone for 5 minutes and it'll fire right up. Its very intermittent but its getting to be a fairly common problem. The resistor trick didn't work. Same thing. What could be the problem?

im currently having the same problem. does your buddy have a keyless remote?
i started noticing this issue when my remote broke. i just ordered a new one, hopefully this will solve it. if not its going to be the chip on the key. or the master lock cylinder.
