Default 02 Ws6 AC Squeal

My ac is squealing bad, i replaced both the idler and tensioner pulleys and installed a new belt and it still squeals even with the ac off. When i turn the ac on, the squealing gets more intense. Could this be the bearing? Im about to order the bearing and a pulley puller, just want to make sure before i spend the money.

Does the pulley have a lot of slop/drag in it? It really sounds like you are on the right track.

When I spun the ac pulley with no belt it moved freely, I spun the clutch part and it felt tight and would only move if i moved it.

Those pulleys are supposed to have drag to them, they should only spin about 1/4 of the way when you try to spin them by hand. If it's spinning a lot after you spin it by hand it has to be replaced. Cool vid on it:

Thats the video I used to help me change both those pulleys he replaced lol. There is no drag on ac compressor pulley itself. But when I tried to spin center portion of the compressor there was lots of drag.

Oh ok you are talking about the pulley on the compressor itself. Your AC compressor should spin freely without the AC clutch engaged, for example with the defrost and A/C switches turned off. If the pulley does not spin free all the time then your compressor bearing could be wearing out. The front clutch will be hard to spin but if you spin the actual pulley where the belt rides it should spin free.
