Default Need help rigging fuel pump/ fuel cell.

My dad has a 93 Impreza he drives to work and it has developed a hole in the fuel tank. The car isn't worth cutting all the rusty bolts out of the rear subframe to get the tank out so we're going to rig a inline fuel pump and fuel cell up in the trunk. I'm pretty sure my plan for this will work out but I just wanted some re assurance. The fuel pressure is only around 36 psi and the regulator is on the engine plus the fuel lines at the tank from the factory are only just water clamped rubber hose. If I buy a inline fuel pump with say a 45psi max pressure (2 wire summit one) can I just wire it in to the factory fuel pump wiring and it work the same way? I just don't want it to run constantly when the keys on. Sound like it'll work?
