car won't turn off!

car won't turn off! so my key is stuck in the ignition in the run position and there appears to be no way to get it out. I was only able to shut the car off by stalling it out and disconnecting the battery. I have tried spraying wd40 in the ignition while the key is in there it didn't do anything
