Default ASR not turning off?

So when ASR is on I can mash the gas and not spin even from a stop. I hit the switch, ASR off light comes on. I mash the gas and it feels exactly the same, no wheel spin. So is it not turning off? No difference in the way the car feels/accelerates and no tires breaking loose regardless of if it's off or on. Anyone have an idea why?

Find a wet or damp road somewhere, leave ASR on, and try again. It'll be very clear that it works when the gas pedal pushes back harder than your foot can mash it down lol.

Thats not my problem... I know it's working. My problem is that I can't get it to NOT work. As in when I press the button to turn it off, it doesn't seem like it turns off cause it still won't spin the tires...
