odd tail light issue with illumination

Default odd tail light issue with illumination

well a few days ago both my rear tail lights wont light up fully.the left lights up on the left side and the right one lights up on the right only.i do have covers on them so maybe hard to see any idea on whats causing this i switched bulbs and tested fuse

Yea......there's THREE bulbs in each one. Probably have a couple burned out. Takes about 5 minutes to replace bulbs in each side.

yes i know three bulbs and a small one in there.i switched them out with working bulbs

Only other thing I know happens is that the backing inside the housing gets old and deteriorates and makes the reflection of the light look much dimmer. There's a process to fix it which requires removing the outer lens and spray painting reflective or silver paint on the backing. Then gluing the lens back on.

The lens itself can also get dark and discolored over time.

Take the light housing off the car and just leave the lights in the sockets and test em out and see exactly which bulbs arent working. Follow the wiring as far as you can and make sure theres no cuts in them. If theres no obvious defect with the wiring your going to have to check/find the controller for the lights.
