Default Wheel Speed Sensor Diagnosis

Does anyone know if a bad wheel speed sensor will store a code in the computer even if the SES light is not on? I have a 2009 GMC Sierra that must have a bad sensor because whenever the temp is below 20 degrees, the dash lights up like a Christmas tree telling me to service the brake system, service stabilitrak, service traction control, etc etc. Just wondering if there might be a code to help me track down the culprit.

Anyone know what the proper resistance/voltage measurements should be for the sensors? Thought I read somewhere that the resistance should be 900-1250ohms and that a spinning wheel should generate 100mV. Sound right?

Yes. There is a separate ABS module that stores these codes. (Its not in the PCM with the other engine sensor codes.) You'll need a special scanner that specifically handles the ABS system/codes.
