Default exhaust vibrations

with the mods in sig, my car vibrates pretty bad when i come to stop only in gear, it would shake and rattle pretty bad and then stops. at first it was just the Y pipe banging the floor. i replaced my motor mounts with prothane and tranny mount with OEM. banging stopped and it was ALOT better but now it rattles when i come to a stop harder than before the new mounts.. is there any tips or mounts that could solve this? ive seen alot of posts with the same issue yet no fix.

noise is mostly from the back and near the passenger side, i took a look under there but everything seems to be solid..

This is driving me nuts, am almost avoiding the car because of this. its annoying and embarrassing.

If it goes away when you shift in to neutral, it could be a sign your torque converter is going.

it isnt always there in gear. only when i come to a stop it vibrates pretty bad then it stops even when am still in gear. it obviously is an exhaust vibration just cant figure out where to place hangers or mounts or whatever. exhaust shops are plain retarded here :/

tire, jack and tire holder are all out. there is a noticeable shake not just a sound. ive read many threads but no specific fix.

Have you tried hitting the exhaust and listen for the rattle? Checked all suspension clearance?

Check the condition of your exhaust mounts. They could be causing the exhaust to shift a little and vibrate something on the body. Sound transmits like crazy on these cars, so it can be hard to pinpoint exactly where it's coming from. I have solid engine mounts, OEM trans, and replaced my exhaust mounts 5-6 years ago. I don't have any vibration with LTs and catted y.

Muffler hitting heat shield above it? Rear exhaust bracket rubber grommet worn where pipe goes over rear axle?

i tried that first. i hit it pretty hard and i couldnt hear a thing, so the engine shake is causing all this. will getting harder tranny mount effect anything?

Yeah those three are the mounts. They wear out and get pretty sloppy.

As far as the trans mount goes, it can definitely help to replace it. Even if it is a brand new rubber OEM. I'm personally not a big fan of the poly trans mount because it caused way more vibration than even my solid motor mounts do.

Have you put the car in the air with the engine running? Maybe even have someone put the car in gear and see if you can find the noise that way.

fixed! it was the mount where the exhaust goes over the axle. it was a bit loose and it makes the heat shield move. cars feel and sound ALOT nicer/cleaner. thanks everyone
