Firebird Power Window Diagnostics So literally minutes after spending a bunch of money getting my truck roadworthy again, the wifey texts me to complain about the driver's window in the Firebird not working. I know I had replaced the motor back in 2007 when I got the car, and replaced the switch about a year ago. So I kinda dismissed it figuring she wasn't paying attention to what she was doing and was hitting the lock button or something silly. Plus, I drove the car last night and the window was working perfectly.
But, I get home and sure enough the window is dead...I had an extra switch, so for ***** I swapped in a new switch, no luck. Double checked the fuse (circuit breaker type) and it's good.
Pushing on the switch I can hear a relay clicking under the dash, but I get no action out of the window at all. So, before I go and order another motor...Is anyone able to confirm whether this sounds like a bad motor, or whether it has to do with the relay?

you could always check for voltage on the connector going into the motor, if you get power there when hitting the switch then it's the motor again, which is not uncommon, when I bought my car the passenger window didn't work and the P.O. had replaced both window motors just 2 years before so it wouldn't surprise me to see it be the motor.

Thanks guys. I dropped it off at a friends shop on the way home from work tonight...We finally had a decent day and I couldn't even drop my window! lol. Last time I replaced it (the hard way) it was a real PITA. So for what it's worth I am going to let the shop deal with it this time.

Your door panel should also last much longer because drilling out the rivets tears it up.

I followed that link two years ago for my passenger side; did it two weeks ago on a friends' '00 T/A. Super easy process.
