Default Replacing the plastic steering column cover

Car is an 01 pontiac firebird. Can anyone tell me how to remove this plastic piece that is surrounding the ignition key cylinder? Mine is cracked and looks terrible. I need a replacement but would like to know how it's done first. Thanks.

Its a PITA! you'll need a steering wheel puller and a lock ring remover. I would suggest having a professional do it unless you feel very comfortable doing it yourself. you can follow the teardown guide by runtwrestlin https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-m...oval-pics.html

I tried to fix the play in pivot pins before and tearing it down was not fun for a first time.
