Default Old fixer up...

Well people I traded my 98 z28 for a 2003 Ducati 999.. After a month of driving the bike it was fast and fun but it's just not the same as a LS car.. So I traded the bike for a 2001 formula last night.. Which brings to my problems.. It's got a few issues driver door panel missing, no radio. But the big one is the tach, speedo, odometer and coolant temp don't work.. Anybody had problems with all these not working at once? Car runs and drives fine. But it has been sitting along time.. What yall think?

On a side note.. We're a good place to get some shirts? Like f body or ls/ performance company apperal?

Door panel should be easy to find; however, they are a bit expensive. For a good one your going to spend ~$150-200. As far as the cluster not working its pretty common for the stepper motors to go bad on these year clusters and there are places that will replace and fix them for you, but if the odometer is not working then that tells me the cluster is not seeing a speed input signal. I would suggest picking up one of those Bluetooth OBD2 scanners which you can monitor things like RPM, coolant temp, and speed, then compare to the cluster.

I just fixed a speedometer issue with a GMC Sonoma and it took me forever to figure out there was a short in the cruise control speed sensor cable which fried the VSS circuit on the PCM so it was not sending a speed signal to the cluster, hopefully this doesn't happen with yours. Good luck and let us know updates

oh and LS1tech shirts? http://ls1techgear.com/main.sc

they are what move the dials, but if your odometer (which is digital) is not reading, the cluster might not be getting any VSS signal from the PCM.

get the OBD2 Bluetooth tool they are under $20

I found the problem.. 15 amp power accessory fuse.. Put a new one in all the gauges came to life.. Now my next question. Does the odometer save the miles accumalted into the ram of the pcm?? Because I was expecting a 150k mile car but when I fixed the cluster it says 91k lol...

oh sweet! I guess that was an easy fix! luck you! all your miles are saved in the cluster. I believe with some PCMs using HP tuner software you can read miles from the PCM as well but I'm not sure as I don't have HP tuner software to play with.
