I tried building a new one from Flaming River, ended up with a notchy on-center steering wheel and $600 less in the bank. I probably f'ed up as I've never done anything like it before, but this is what I tried:

FR1717DD 3/4" DD X 1" DD Universal Billet-Joint

FR1810KS 3/4" Support Bearing Kit with Straight Bracket

FR1850SSPL 18" Stainless DD Shaft - Polished Finish

Flaming River FR1794 Double Steering U-Joint

I don't know that we have anyone who has put a do-it-yourself tutorial for this or found acceptable parts for this, but you should be able to take the unit to a good machine shop for them to figure out.

The parts seem top notch. The biggest pain was trying to find a place to mount the support kit as I had to make a custom bracket.

The intermediate shaft on mine has a rough bearing on one side, just on one axis, probably the one the gets used the most. I saw on rockauto that theres a "steering shaft universal joint" listed for the 93-02 fbody and many other cars, acdelco 26057095, just a couple of plastic pieces like maybe just what's inside the u-joint. I don't see any way to take the u-joints apart though. Anyone know if this is possible?

Default Feeling a glitch in my steering

I'm interested as well. I think I have a sloppy shaft.

Those plastic pieces go into the steering column.... not the intermediate shaft.
