Default Trans Am headlight

Is there a way I can keep my headlights in the open position until I repair them? My driver side will not open occasionally and I would rather just keep them open than only have one open when driving at night.

When the headlights are up either disconnect the motor or pull the fuse while they are up

When the lights are up take the black cover off around the headlights, 4 screws, then you will see the motor and the harness, just disconnect it

Make sure you cover up the connectors with tape or something of the sort to prevent water from corroding them!

I don't think this will work. I recall that headlight wires are in that same connector, so disconnecting the motor should also disconnect the lamps. Putting some electrical tape inside the connector to disrupt the motor contacts might do the trick, though.

****, my apologies op, this right here is correct, for some reason I was thinking the two window motor wires were on a separate plug

This is why I got a camaro instead of another trans am. Trivial, I know, but it annoyed me.

No, they're not. The only thing the headlight door module and headlights share is source voltage from the headlight switch. Disconnecting either the module or door motors (I'd recommend that) shouldn't affect the headlights themselves.

The motor can be deactivated separately, but the motor and headlights share the same connector body. So, if the connector is simply unplugged, then both will go out.

Well, that's what I get for looking at my LT1 schematics. I didn't notice the connectors are the same on the two different LS1 drawings. That's kind of weird. Learn something new every day.
