Clicking from the rear. Ok I need some help. I have a 2000 ss with 6 speed trans. Around 85000 miles. There is a clicking noise coming from the rear. When you accelerate it stops. When your coast or push the clutch is when it starts clicking. I think it's a rotational noise because as you slow down so does the clicking. I'm at wits end with this. I have my local dealer look at it, a transmission specialist, a mechanic from an independent auto repair shop and no one cane tell me what is is. It is getting worse and driving me insane. Please someone has to have an idea what's going on. Thanks for reading this. Please help Insane in Florida. :headbang
Try lifting your rear wheels and supporting the axle tubes on jack stands. Run the engine. Put it in drive or 3rd if manual and let it idle. Stand behind the car and listen for the noise.
