Default losing oil pressure

my 04 denali with the 6.0L has been losing oil pressure lately. at a cold start up it is about 20 psil and when it is warmed up it is about 5 to 7 psi. the oil also smells like gas i have only ran 5w30 I've done some research on this and it sounds like i have excessive bearing clearances which would require to pull the pan off and throw a set in of mains. which I'm not comfortable doing, or there is an injector stuck open and is diluting the oil with gas? truck runs and drives great just don't want to break anything further. i was thinking about trading it in for a newer denali and was wondering if running straight 50w would help "bandaid" the problem ? i know the oil pump isn't at fault because of how the psi increases about 10lbs with every 1k in rpm change.

forgot to mention the oil light comes on once truck is fully warm truck also has 240k miles never had a major issue until now.

any thoughts or ideas i could do ? thanks

I would figure out how the gas is getting into the crank case... probably a leaking injector... check the fuel pressure regulator too to make sure it is not leaking fuel via the vacuum line... change oil and filter and see how your oil pressure is.. gas will dilute the oil causing low oil pressure and you might get lucky and there is no internal damage... keep fingers crossed

does it miss or run rich at all or does it seem to run fine other than the low oil pressure? if it is missing I would throw on a scanner and see which cyl it is and check that injector first after checking fuel press reg... that is the easiest to check

there is a check engine light on. the truck runs like day one since i got it ! no misfires or anything. which leads me to think an injector is stuck open. i though that it was kind of unlikely they would get stuck open. i thought they need applied voltage to open them ? i did change the oil and it helped just by a few pounds then went back. think straight 50 weight would batch it for a few weeks ?

Put a mechanical gauge on it to confirm the oil pressure readings. The oil pressure sensor could be bad. If the pressure is actually low, start with an oil pump replacement and fresh oil and filter. Then go from there.

If you had an injector stuck open the engine would run bad, your fuel economy would go to hell, and your O2's should be throwing codes.

Why do you think an injector is "stuck open?" Since the fuel pump is providing constant pressure to each injector, that would be a problem. Each injector is pulsed from the ECU at just the right time. If you still have the old oil filter, I'd cut it open and look for metal shavings just to be sure.
