is this normal? been driving my car the past few days, every once in a while I get a drop of oil, whether it be transmission or engine oil, but if I leave it sit for a few weeks, I get a very big puddle on the ground. is it normal for a car to leak more when it sits?
Certain transmission leaks will leak a lot as the car sits and the converter drains fluid back into the pan. So a solenoid or gasket leak near or just above the pan will cause a big *** puddle if it has time to sit.
Oil leaks....gravity and the actual weight of the oil will push fluid through tiny leaks too......and again, over time more will get pushed out. Sometimes when the level drops enough it might not push through a small leak anymore.
What kind of fluid is it....?

Is it high mileage? Rear main seals are known to start dripping in high mileage engines.. Also if you had anyone touch the oil pan or front and rear covers at all that will cause a drip most times..
Reason being is that most regular mechanics are not familiar with the alignment procedure in these Ls engines and they always end up with a drip and they try and fix it with adding a lot of rtv in the wrong places..
Also the ac compressors are known to drip a few drops of green/oil almost a gel like on to the ground.. Best bet is to crawl under the car with a light and find out

its both but more transmission fluid(red) just had rear main seal replaced last year, and transmission fluid was changed, I think the mechanic overtorqued the bolts on the transmission. and as far as the rear main seal, it didn't leak at all last year after they changed it, just only after it sat all winter did it slowly start again
