Two possible issues My fiance has an '02 Trans Am Formula auto with about 106k miles on it. I believe the fuel pump is going out. 30% of the time it will start on the first try just fine. Then on others it takes 2, 3, or 4 times for it to start. No clicking or anything, just acting like it can't get fuel. Problem number two I believe is another issue. 90% of the time I'm done driving it's hard to push in reverse and impossible to get in park. Then the key doesn't come out correctly. It acts like the ignition was messed with. When it goes into park, the key comes out correctly. I'm thinking ignition switch possibly? Any advice on these issues would be greatly appreciated before I go and buy the parts. Thanks in advance!
Sounds like probably the fuel pressure regulator in the fuel pump, Mine has the same issue and I have been living with it for months now. Fuel pressure will go up to 50psi but drop off pretty fast as soon as the pump turns off making it hard to start sometimes.
Your other problem sounds like it could be the cable that runs from the transmission to your steering column. It might just need to be adjusted tighter (or looser?) you might need to play with it but its located right next to your high beam switch.
