Security Light on?

Security Light on? Anyone know what can cause this or how it can be corrected. The car starts and drive (not very well because it has jumped the tune on it loads up on fuel causing it to miss and backfire). Would the messed up tune cause this or what steps could i take to turn it off?? Thanks in advance
Security light shouldn't have an effect on your tune, 99% of the time the security light is an issue with the VATS system. You might want to pull the codes and see if your getting any codes. Is this issue happening when the engine is cold or already warmed up, or both?

VATS is the Vehicle Anti-Theft system. It uses the the correct measured resistance specific to your car in your key to unlock the starter and fuel pump. Sometimes if there is a fault in the system it can cause your security light to come on but still let your car run, sometimes if the issue progresses it can cause it to lock your starter and fuel pump. The VATS system is contorlled by your BCM and not your PCM/ECU so it shouldnt have any effect on a tune. If I were you I'd stop by an auto parts store and get them to check to the codes on your computer (if you don't have a scanner already) to see if anything comes up.
