Random misfires (P0300). Help, please.
As of lately, my previously occasional, mild misfires has become much more prominent to the point where the throttle feels as if it jolts back and forth. The engine light flashes and I get the code P0300 (random misfire). This problem originally started when my old O2 sensors were fowled by a lubricant spray at the incompetence of a mechanic when he was working to remove the exhaust manifold to change the clutch slave cylinder. Three were soon changed and I just replaced the last (driver side upstream) sensor in question yesterday. Yet the misfires persist. Because the misfires are truly random--occurring at intervals between several per second to once every few seconds, I'm inclined to believe it's something sensor-related. So apart from the O2 sensors and the spark plugs/wires, is there anything else that can get fowled and cause this from the bottom, exhaust end?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
