if you were to look at the oil flow diagram the oem sending unit location on all the GM blocks is near the end of the hydraulic circuit, so if it is reading pressure there then you can be mostly certain there is pressure everywhere in the oil galley and all the bearings are seeing oil flow.

putting the oil sending unit at the oil filter location like this adapter... it'll work,
but if for instance it is measuring pressure before the oil goes into the filter then you can be misled. if there's a drop in oil pressure across the filter or if the filter gets plugged, your oil pressure gauge will read the normal 40-60 psi but in reality your main and cam bearings can have significantly less oil pressure.
it's not the worst idea in the world, and it certainly won't "not work".
if it solves some other problem because of modifications, it's only $20 and at least they are not claiming increases horsepower and fuel economy.

i'd be worried about heat from the catalytic converter at that location killing the sensor and wiring, i had an oil temp sensor at that location and had constant problem of wire going to sensor breaking after a summer of driving. and you'd probably need some extension wire from the oem location to this location to connect it.

My friend (a fabbing guru) made me an oil pressure sensor extension line. He welded a male threaded fitting (from an old OPSU sensor) onto the end of a metal line....then a female onto the other end. The metal line goes straight upward, has a 90* turn adapter, then it goes horizontally towards the drivers side of the car until it pokes the female threaded end just clear of the intake. He had to thread tap the female end of the new metal line. The metal line is the same inner diameter as the diameter of the OPSU port on the block so its the same. Then you reach over with the new OPSU and simply screw it in by hand....then tighten it with the socket while holding the line from spinning with another wrench. Then plug it in.
Done.

And no I have not installed it yet. It will go on when my turbo kit is installed. Then I'll take pictures for everyone.
