I looked into the radio button wheel conversion, didn't want to really mess with the missing wiring nor have non-working buttons.
So I bought a used factory wheel off eBay for $70 but I didn't look close enough. It seems to be the exact same size and shape, but doesn't have the sewing along the inside of the wheel nor the change in texture split in the texture where it connects to the center of the wheel. The part number is 17998962 but I can't find a cross reference anywhere, even in the 4th gen parts manual. I believe it's rubber instead of leather, but looks really nice otherwise. The cheapest leather non-button version I could find was $200. So how does will this rubber model hold up to wear, hot weather, etc. compared to leather?
