96 z28 dieseling problem

being efi and having an engine computer, i suspect it is not dieseling but rather your ignition key to off position is not killing electrical power to the ignition and fuel injection. modern engines that are fuel injected don't diesel unless the fuel injectors somehow keep squirting fuel. if there was a carburetor on the engine then it could be possible to actually "diesel".
