jacking under front control arm to load suspension?
jacking under front control arm to load suspension? how can you jack up the front of the car and have the suspension loaded but with the front wheels off the ground?
is it safe to use floor or bottle jack to jack up under the bottom of the control arm, with a piece of wood being the two? that wouldn't harm the control arm would it?

I've used a floor jack and block of wood under the lower A-arm to load the suspension for torquing components (which I assume is what you're doing). Just be careful of the ball joint zerk fitting, if there's one in there.

if i scribe a chalk line on the front tires... to measure toe with a longacre toe in gauge #79622 "Simply jack up the front wheels and scribe a true running line on the face of the tires"
i thought toe changes when the suspension drops when the car body is jacked up and wheels are off the floor?
