Trunk Lid Tailgate Lock Actuator Ever since I have purchased my 98 WS6 the truck lid actuator did not sound right (grinding noise). Well it no longer opens the trunk (still same grinding noise). I removed it and I am about to drill out the rivets and take a look inside to see if it can be repaired. Was wondering if anybody had a similar issue and if you had any luck repairing the actuator? It is GM part #16625144 and believe it has been used from 93-02 on a number of GM vehicles. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
Update: Looks like GM part#16640848 also is an equivalent. I was able to find one for much cheaper than the $30-40 they typically are going for. I guess it is not worth the time tearing the old one apart to attempt repair when most likely some gears are stripped out.
