LS1 TB coolant line coupler

I went to PepBoys and looked through their hardware drawers and found a coupler. Bought two smaller worm clamps and that was it. No idea what the part number was. It was a brass piece and each end had ribs so the rubber hose when pushed on was almost impossible to come off. Almost didn't need clamps, but of course I used them.

I suppose the 2 different size hoses with a coupler is the correct way to do this. But, I'd like to point out that the more connections you have, the more chances you have to develope a leak.
A single 5/16" Hose with 2 Clamps has worked fine on the half dozen cars I've done this to.
I'm not trying to convince you either way. Just want to point out my experiences. Good luck.

So I'm still using a 5/16" heater hose connected to one end of this ribbed brass coupler, and a 1/4" hose from the other end of the coupler to the cylinder head nipple, with hose clamps at each junction, correct?
This is the only thing I could find locally, will this be fine for a coupler? Although historically I only run water Water Wetter with distilled water, I've read that glycol makes fuel line brittle, and I also don't know whether the bulk fuel line is rated for coolant temp and pressure.
