Pcv valve boot
Pcv valve boot Looking to replace the rubber boot piece that covers the PCV valve on my car. 02 Camaro. (Up front, by the TB) Noticed it cracked bad today and is now not tight on the valve. Fits onto the valve on one side, reduces down to 3/8? Line on the other side. Already got a part number for a fixed orifice type valve, (heard it helps with oil usage) anyone ever replace that boot with anything? Looks like they want you to buy the entire assembly. Seeing if anyone else has had any experience (other than just removing it all etc) before heading to the hardware store in the AM. Did some searches but most of what I came up with were very old threads where pics and whatnot were no longer there. Thanks

As you've already discovered, that boot can only be ordered from GM as part of the entire PCV line, so you either have to do that or make something custom (as you've indicated.)
However, I was recently informed that the fixed orifice PCV valve has been discontinued by GM, so all that remains is whatever inventory is currently on various shelves at local GM dealers (I had a hard time finding one back in the summer.) Unless there is an aftermarket supplier for this? I've only ever heard of them being available from GM.
