How Do I Fix These Taillights I've been having a problem for the past couple years with my taillights and I want to know should I just replace the sockets or what. My taillights would have a problem to where one minute when I'm looking at them they're working but the next I would get told while on driving that my left or right taillight is out and I have seen it before in the reflection of usually a truck's grill thats behind me. But the other day as I was going to work at night I had my headlights and lights on and everything but my left taillight I believe wasn't evening lighting up when I braked like the parking lights were on but the left wasnt doing anything when I braked. How can I fix this? I have a 99' WS6
I'm almost positive its the turn signal stalk. I chased that same problem for over a year and asked LS1Tech for help and got nothing. I replaced the turn cam signal and springs and fixed it. See this thread: https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-m...mn-repair.html
I was never able to replicate the problem till I decided to do this....
I narrowed it down to that by backing up to the garage at night and playing around with the turn signal stalk. My left one would not always bounce back to center enough because the spring was weak. I'm betting if you wiggle it down just a bit, but not enough to click on, the light goes out and you can probably get it to stay off if you gently let go (which it shouldn't do and that's the problem you're having). I bet the top or right signal is okay and doesn't do the same. It'll probably work as it should.
