fbody headlights are stuck Hey guys. So I replaced my gear after there grinding noise. When I put everything back together and flipped the switch the headlight barely moved like something was stopping it. I got help to see what was going on. When they hit the switch it would spin for a second then stopped. They did it again with me giving it a bit of a push and it started moving again only with my help. I took off the arm and hit the switch and the motor worked just fine. Is the motor going bad? Sorry if this is old I'm new to searching and posting stuff,
In the Firebird forum, there is a special Sticky for all headlight related issues. Please search there first for ideas and post your issues there if you need any assistance.
You'll see that the gear flip trick only works a small percentage of the time and really only helps if one or two teeth are bad. It's also possible that your motor is pulling away from the gearbox and stripping more of your gear teeth. (This issue even strips metal gears and may cause you to have to get a new motor.)
