Tutorial on how to replace ignition switch I have a 1998 Firebird Formula, V8, manual transmission. When I try to start my engine. Nothing happens. The battery is fine. There are no dash lights. It is like didn't turn the key on to start the engine. I think it is the ignition switch in the column. I've bought a new ignition switch.
Is there a tutorial on how to remove part of the steering column cover so I can access and replace the ignition switch?

FYI - If the key turns, the "ignition cylinder" that you put the key in is fine. The "ignition switch" is a separate part connected with linkages in the column.
This indicates a broader electrical problem, which could be a number of things. Often people with this problem who have good batteries end up with corroded or loose battery cables.
