All wet - upleasant surprises My new (to me) 2002 Z28 with 4000 miles on it gave me an upleasant surprise today. During the whole month of June we have recieved several inches of rain. Needless to say I've had to drive through quite a few puddles in the last week or more.
Tonight my son noticed a piece of paper stuck between the hump and one of the rear seats. It was soaking wet with water. I pulled the rear seats out to find the carpet underneath was saturated. The passenger side was standing in water.
It appears the water got in around the seat belt bolts or floor pan plugs. All other areas were dry including around the hatch, front pans and doors. I'm taking it to GM tomorrow to talk to them about it. :angry:
In short, you late generation guys beware. If it weren't for that soggy paper, I probably never would have found it. I'm sure in time the rear pans would have looked worse than my 68.

I had a water problem too. The weather stripping wasn't sealing at the body seam below the rear hatch, just behind the rear seat belt mount. A little black gasket goo along the body seam there, shove the weather stripping back on, and never had a leak since. Car's never been wrecked either, so it was that way from the factory.
