Default broken starter thread for the starter bolt

Hi Guys, I have an issue about the starter mounting thread that the starter bolts thread into to mount the starter. I dont know how to post the pic but, the place where the bolt threads in has broken off the corner of the block.
Whats the repair, can i relocate the starter bracket or mount it in another spot so it connects with the flywheel?
someone told me its a common thing for it to chip off the corner of the LS1 block. I don't know if thats true but any advice on how to get the starter mounted would be a lifesaver. Thanks

I have seen posts of people cracking the starter mounting area off the block before. I think the typical repair would be to get the block welded and have new starter bolt holes tapped.

Get it welded up if you can. Mine broke and I JB welded it and ran it for 3 years until I replaced the motor.

This is unfortunately a common problem. The fixes I've seen are to either professionally weld the block or get a special bracket to work around the issue. (There are a number of options out there - some companies price gouge and take advantage of the situation...)

If you search this site, you'll also find some members who have fabricated their own brackets.

I had the same issue and used one of the brackets. It's worked ok since I used it, but sometimes the starter would come misaligned and not engage the flexplate 100%. My solution.....built lq4.
