Default New Starter not engaging flywheel

I took out my old starter , it was cracked and non salvageable. It was making a crazy grinding noise when I tried to start it. So I put a new one in and now it's not engaging the flywheel. The flywheel have perfect teeth and it looks to be in great condition overall. Did I not put the starter in correct ?? Plz help. Thanks in advance

Do you mean the starter is doing nothing when you turn the key? There are two wires that bolt to the starter, one large gauge red wire straight from the battery and one smaller gauge purple wire from the starter relay. I think there are three posts on the starter solenoid, so you have to be sure to have them in the correct location. You really can't put the purple wire on the wrong stud so make sure that the larger red wire is on the correct stud.

Edit: One of the larger studs should already have a wire bolted down going to the starter body, I believe you want to bolt the battery cable to the other stud with no wires connected to it.
